Security MEA speaks with Alain Penel, Regional Vice President – Middle East, Fortinet about their participation at GISEC 2018.
Why did you choose to participate in GISEC this year?
Digital transformation is one of the key strategies organizations are utilizing to achieve growth as well as associated business objectives. The process requires an equivalent security transformation, and GISEC provides us with the right platform to present our offering to a targeted audience. This year we are utilizing our presence at GISEC 2018 to demonstrate how the Fortinet Security Fabric enables digital business and provides organizations with broad, integrated and automated protection from IoT to multi-cloud environments.
You are a returning participant at GISEC. What were your takeaways from last year’s event?
Fortinet has been participating at and supporting GISEC for the past 5 years. Over the years, we have seen a change in the cyber security landscape in the region and the corresponding rise in security investments. Last year, we had the opportunity to address a large, focused audience on how the Fortinet Security Fabric gives them control, integration, and easy management of security across the entire organisation, from IoT to the cloud.
What are you showcasing at GISEC 2018?
We will be holding customized demonstrations crucial to the Security Fabric and the security transformation process in addition to showcasing the following technologies:
- New security capabilities across the key solution areas within the Security Fabric architecture, including management and analytics, multi-cloud, network, advanced threat protection, unified access, web applications, email, IoT and endpoint security.
- Industry-leading secure SD-WAN functionality, threat detection services, and expanded visibility from IoT to multi-cloud networks protect the vast attack surface resulting from digital transformation (DX) strategies.
- New automated lifecycle workflows, attack surface hardening services, with customized ranking and industry benchmarking, deliver the next level of NOC/SOC management.
- Business, network and entity level tagging functionality enable business precise segmentation, providing the critical building blocks for intent-based network security.
What are you most excited about this year’s participation?
Our aim is to drive the Security Transformation within organizations that are focused on digital transformation efforts. Any effective security transformation strategy today requires a collaborative system of integrated solutions that enable such things as the sharing of local and global threat intelligence between devices, automated threat detection, analysis and escalation, and coordinating responses to threats between solutions that normally operate as individual or isolated devices. We are excited to demonstrate the abilities of the Fortinet Security Fabric in connecting traditionally disparate security solutions into a unified framework, allowing them to dynamically adapt to the evolving IT Infrastructure in order to defend its rapidly changing attack surface.
