Secureworks has appointed Gopan Sivasankaran as General Manager, META as it continues to expand across the region. The global security solutions provider offers Taegis XDR, a cloud-native solution that combines Secureworks’ SecOps expertise and threat intelligence capabilities to detect and respond to attacks across cloud, endpoint and network environments. Taegis XDR is available as a SaaS or as a managed service directly from Secureworks or from a Secureworks MSSP in MEA.
A cyber security industry veteran, Gopan joined Secureworks 8 years ago as the first employee on ground in the region. He commented on the developments the company has made in that time, “Secureworks’ significant progress in the region is reflected by our growing customer base, as we work closely with our channel partners to provide XDR and deliver managed service capabilities that help businesses confront adversaries and deal with the increasing number of global threats.”
He added, “We’ve made a conscious effort to focus on the MEA mid-market to ensure that our world class SOC and cloud-native solutions are available to as many businesses as possible. Secureworks has a strong presence in the region. Our solutions are deployed with hundreds of large and mid-sized organisations across different verticals, including manufacturing and financial services. We also deliver consulting engagements that consist of incident response, threat hunting and pen-testing.”
Secureworks’ MEA operation is headquartered in Dubai. The regional team is made up of Incident Responders, Program Managers, Customer Success Mangers, Security Architects, Penetration Testers and Implementation Engineers, supported by a Sales and marketing function. New hires are being added to the team to cater for increasing customer demand. Secureworks recently launched a data storage facility in the EU to support customers in this hemisphere. It also works with trusted partners that operate managed SOC facilities in the Middle East and India.
MEA customers include IFFCO, one of the largest producers of processed food and agricultural commodities in the region. Goutam Pudota, Group Head of Information Security, said, “We enjoy a very good partnership with Secureworks in terms of how our SOC is managed. They provide us with much more than just a set of tools, Secureworks provides us with a dedicated managed service. We work together to manage IFFCO’s cyber security program.”
Secureworks continues to invest in its Global Partner Program and its resellers across the region. It recently signed a new distribution agreement with Redington Value, one of the region’s largest value-added distributors, to ensure greater availability of its flagship Taegis products for customers.
Sayantan Dev, President at Redington Value, explained, “With over 20 years MSSP experience, Secureworks is well placed to support resellers, MSP and MSSPs that are looking to adopt threat detection and response solutions powered by the Taegis platform. We recently strengthened our partnership with Secureworks, meaning we’re now able to offer our channel partners the opportunity to grow their portfolios and improve the security posture of businesses throughout the Middle East and Africa.”
