Trend Micro Incorporated, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, has bolstered its Middle East leadership team with a new managing director for Saudi Arabia and a new head of sales operations in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to support surging demand for cybersecurity, with research showing that the region’s cybersecurity market is set to reach a record high of SAR83 billion[1] by 2022.
With Saudi Vision 2030 boosting nationwide digital transformation and the G20 economy’s diversified growth, the Kingdom is facing high volumes of cyberattacks. Trend Micro research for Q1 2019 shows Saudi Arabia had the highest number of malware threat detections, and the second-highest number for email threats and malicious URLs, in MENA.
“The Kingdom’s record-high cybersecurity market illustrates the urgency that public and private sector organizations face in their secure digital transformation,” said Dr. Moataz Bin Ali, vice president, Middle East and North Africa, Trend Micro.
Supporting the region’s secure digital transformation, Trend Micro has appointed Rasheed Alodah as country managing director for Saudi Arabia, and Muayad Simbawa as head of sales operations for MENA. Both will report directly to Dr. Moataz Bin Ali.
“Our new appointments for the Kingdom and for MENA bring strong experience and leadership skills to secure strategic verticals,” added Dr. Moataz Bin Ali. “Government and public sector, energy and oil and gas, and education are our priority markets where we see the strongest demand. These industries handle sensitive business and citizen data that need comprehensive security.”
