F5 Networks has been named as the Leader in The Forrester Wave: Web Application Firewalls in its latest report published last week for the Q2 2018. The Forrester Research report, authored by analyst Amy DeMartine, evaluated vendors on current offering, product strategy, and market presence, and gave F5 the highest scores in the attack detection and attack response criteria.
“Applications are consistently amongst the top attack targets for bad actors, and our goal is to provide comprehensive protection where it is needed most,” said Ram Krishnan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Security at F5. “We believe the results of this report reflect the trust that F5 customers and vendors place in our WAF solutions to protect their applications on-premises and across public and hybrid cloud deployments.”
WAFs have evolved into tools that can greatly reduce the risk of an application breach. Today’s top-performing WAFs are continually updated and offer a variety of detection and response techniques.
The report cites F5’s multiple consumption models including the “Silverline-managed service and self-managed offering as well as the Advanced WAF appliance and its traditional Application Security Manager.” It calls out F5’s support service in its profile, noting “customers praised the support they receive from the company.”
