Intel updated its bug bounty program to offer USD 250,000 until December 31, 2018, and it is now been converted from invitation-only program to an open for all program, meaning now any security researcher can be part of it, thereby significantly expanding the pool of eligible researchers to work on mitigating the vulnerabilities found in Intel products such as Meltdown and Spectre.
“We will continue to evolve the program as needed to make it as effective as possible and to help us fulfill our security-first pledge. Thank you, in advance, to all of those across the industry who choose to participate,” said Rick Echevarria is vice president and general manager of Platform Security at Intel Corporation.
